Dun (probable), Townhead (Site).

The parish minister of Kilsyth in 1796 states (1) that one of several circular stone fortifications in the neighbourhood was situated at Townhead, but all traces of this structure have now disappeared.

One of 'several circular fortifications' in the parish of Kilsyth (NS77NW 24) was noted in the Statistical Account at Townhead. It is possibly the 'small Fort' recorded by Gordon near 'Columbee' (see NS77NW 21 and NS77NW 30).
